Street Works Participates in National HIV Testing Day

In conjunction with STDFree! and other local community based organizations, Street Works will be providing free HIV screenings and haircuts and assisting with the opening of checking and savings accounts as part of National HIV Testing Day on Saturday, June 27. Screenings will be provided from 1 to 5 pm at Hadley Park, located at 28th Avenue North and Jefferson Street in Nashville. The event will include live music and refreshments.
The event is sponsored by STD Free! with the Metro Public Health Department, Meharry Medical College, and the Tennessee Department of Health’s Office of Minority Health and Disparities Elimination. National HIV Testing Day aims to raise awareness about the importance of knowing one’s HIV status and to encourage at-risk individuals to be screened for HIV.
